Unlocking the Singapore Spirit – YEO HIAP SENG steps up to help the fight against COVID-19

On 4 February 2020, the folks from Yeo Hiap Seng Limited led by Group CEO, Samuel Koh, visited Singapore General Hospital to deliver over 3,000 bottles of Yeo’s refreshing beverages to show their support for all the frontline medical staff who professionally and tirelessly carry out their duty of care in the ongoing battle against the 2019 novel coronavirus.

“Very often, the heroes in our midst are forgotten. At Yeo’s, we believe that it is important not just to be good in business, but to do good in business. This is our little way of thanking the true heroes who unstintingly serve the nation” said Mr Samuel Koh, Group CEO, Yeo Hiap Seng Limited.

Besides SGH, Yeo Hiap Seng Limited also delivered Yeo’s beverages to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, National Centre for Infectious Disease, Changi General Hospital and Seng Kang General Hospital. Over 12,000 units of Yeo’s Chrysanthemum Tea and Yeo’s Red Date Black Tea were given on 4 and 5 February 2020.

Yeo’s Spirit of Giving donates $100,000 to Community Chest

In this season of giving, Yeo’s made the purchase of its range of refreshing beverages more meaningful for customers by pledging 50 cents for every $5.00 worth of any Yeo’s beverage bought at NTUC FairPrice supermarkets and Cheers outlets. In about 3 weeks, the Spirit of Giving campaign raised a total of $100,000. The cheque was presented by Melvin Teo, Group CEO of Yeo Hiap Seng Limited, to Priscilla Gan, Director of Relations and Engagement, Community Chest on 10 December 2019.

15 beneficiaries from AWWA, AMKFSC & Montfort Care which are the three social service agencies supported by Community Chest witnessed the cheque presentation held at NTUC FairPrice Xtra at VivoCity. Yeo’s also sponsored a shopping trip at NTUC FairPrice Xtra worth $200 per person for these 15 beneficiaries. Yeo’s employees were at hand to engage and assist the beneficiaries on their shopping needs.

“I am very heartened that the Yeo’s Spirit of Giving campaign has contributed meaningfully to support the less privileged in Singapore.  This very successful collaboration between our business partners and employees, the Community Chest and its affiliates, supported by our loyal consumers have enabled us to reach our target $100,000 cash donation within a short three weeks.  Yeo’s will continue to play an active role in serving the communities because we firmly believe that it is important not just to be good in business, but to do good in business.” said Teo.
